Who are Te Arotūruki?
Whakataki - Introduction
Tēnā koutou
Te Arotūruki is a Māori Monitoring and Liaison Group, initially engaged by Scion (formerly Forest Research), Rotorua, specialising in Plant Gene Technologies.
Te Arotūruki is comprised of Māori from many different Iwi and Hapū affiliations who have a wide range of expertise, knowledge and experience. Te Arotūruki does not represent specific Iwi, Hapū, Whānau or Māori Organisations.
Te Arotūruki acknowledges and respects the Mana and Rangatiritanga of Ngāti Hurungaterangi, Ngāti Te Kahu, Ngāti Taeotu o Whakaue, the Tangata Whenua of the lands on which Scion is located.
The Tangata Whenua have given their support to Scion scientists and for their initiative taken in the formation and purpose of Te Arotūruki.
