Who are Te Arotūruki?
Mana Whenua
Te Arotūruki gratefully acknowledges Ngati Tutueata rangatira (chiefs): the late Eria Moke and late Ben Hona (both from Ngati Taeotu, Ngati Hurungaterangi, Ngati Kahuupoko) for mandating this mahi and strengthening the relationship between Scion and Tangata Whenua.
Past Te Arotūruki Members and Scion support
We wish to acknowledge Henare Matua Kani for helping Phillip Wilcox to establish Te Arotūruki. We thank past Te Arotūruki members: Fiona Cram, Kevin Prime, Tom Stone, Pourouto Ngaropo and Ross Scott. We are grateful for the continued support of Scion’s Executive Management Team including the former and current Māori Strategy Manager, Tupara Morrison and Peter Bennett, respectively, for advice and guidance.

Members Mere Roberts was supported by FRST contract UOAX0234 and Bevan Tipene Matua was supported by the FRST-funded Constructive Conversations Project UOCX0221.
We thank Christian Walter for allowing us to trial aspects of the Te Arotūruki Process during the consultation and preparation for two field trials of genetically engineered trees.
ERMA and Kaupapa Kura Taiao Unit
We are also grateful the Kaupapa Kura Taiao Unit of ERMA NZ for support for the development of the toolkits and permission to use material for these toolkits that they have available for applicants or have written especially for the toolkits. We also thank ERMA for access to dissemination of information via it’s Māori National Network (MNN) via Te Putara magazine. We acknowledge ERMA’S MNN, particularly to members who have provided feedback on the Te Arotūruki Process and toolkits over the course of three consecutive years at various hui.
